Girl Guides aim to enable Guides to develop their fullest potential and grow as responsible citizens of Singapore. The Guiding programme teaches Guides vital life skills such as personal goal-setting, decision-making and team-building, in a safe and supportive environment. Girl Guides build and strengthen their leadership skills by taking the lead in Unit and Patrol activities, learning to organise events, teaching each other and younger Guides new skills. Another significant component of Guiding is being prepared to help others through meaningful community service, from caring for the elderly to helping the less privileged. Guiding creates many opportunities for our girls to understand complex issues confronting the world today, including cyber safety and environmental sustainability. More importantly, Guiding provides hands-on activities that equip our girls with skills to take action by leading and participating in community service projects that make an impact on the community. Our Girl Guides are part of a worldwide Movement providing non-formal education where girls and young women develop leadership, life skills, courage, and grow through self-development, challenge and adventure.
